Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics)

The opportunity
Work for a business that values people first and play an important part in delivering furniture for NZ and international school learners. The Purchasing Coordinator will be responsible for managing purchasing of materials on behalf of the Hastings site and coordinating with suppliers to ensure the delivery of materials to meet production and customer needs:
* Ordering materials to meet our production requirements and customer needs alongside our ERP system (Epicor).
* Includes direct & indirect purchasing categories (steel, panel that forms part of our core product range, as well as consumables and tools to keep our factory humming).
* Liaising with our incredibly valuable suppliers (by mainly phone & email) in a calm and clear manner around inventory and service delivery expectations.
* Escalating potential stock-outs and product unavailability and communicating these to our customer care team.
* Assisting with stock cycle counting, inventory investigations, etc.
About you

Ideally, you have:
* Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
* An understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes and raw material specifications.
Your enthusiasm for purchasing or manufacturing, along with a willingness to learn about lean methodologies, will help you thrive in this role. While prior experience with supplier interactions is a plus, we’re excited to support and develop the right candidate who is eager to grow and make a difference.
In addition to these skills, you’ll bring excellent literacy, numeracy, and communication abilities, along with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
