The Role
A Cost Account Management role responsible for managing and controlling the finance aspects of an IT Product Group OpEx budget (circa £40m per annum). Focus on cost accounting, budgeting, financial reconciliation and financial reporting. Ability to coordinate activities across a number of sub-cost account management budgets, owned both internally to the Product Group and externally. Overall responsibility to deliver the OpEx budget to cost, timescales and in support of quality for those services delivered. The incumbent will be expected to shape, plan and submit future OpEx annual budgets over a 5 year term.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Maintain cost account systems, procedures, processes and practices to track OpEx costs.
2. Ensure compliance with those internal procedures.
3. Monitor and analyse variances between monthly, quarterly and annual budgeted expenses.
4. Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure forecasts are accurate, articulated and up to date.
5. Identify and support the implementation of cost savings and efficiencies within the budget.
6. Review and adjust budget and forecast for new services into the budget.
7. Provide financial guidance and support to sub-cost account teams that make up the overall Product Group budget.
8. Progress risk (and opportunity) identification, assessment, cost and risk mitigation plans for services outside of the formal budget.
9. Prepare and articulate monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for senior management.
10. Maintain accurate records of all cost related finance data and decisions making and ensure they are accessible.
11. Participate in financial audits.
12. Assist in the development of long term (5 year) OpEx plan for the Product Group.
What BAE Systems are looking for, from you:
1. Is generally working to SFIA level 4.
2. Proven experience in Cost Account Management.
3. Takes on a lead role, providing consultancy advice, guidance and mentorship to sub-Cost Account Management Teams.
4. Benchmarks and reviews improved ways of working - continually seeking opportunities for quality improvement and cost reduction.
5. Has a good understanding of the ITIL4 framework.
6. Experience of working in an IT Function.
7. Proficient in financial management software (ideally SAP, but Oracle, or similar).
8. Proficient in use of MS Excel.
9. Risk management background.
10. Be trained at least to ITIL foundation and either appropriate ITIL Intermediate or other appropriate capability training.
11. Knowledge of working within a SIAM operating model would be beneficial.

This role will require the person to hold full Security Clearance (SC) prior to working onsite. You will need to obtain a BPSS check as part of this process. You must currently hold or be eligible and willing to obtain SC and you must be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship and have lived and worked in the UK for a minimum 5 year period.
