As the Sensory Impairment Support Service Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring that individuals and families with sensory needs (hearing and \/or visual) in the community are supported to achieve personal outcomes through positive interventions which promote independence, positive risk taking and social inclusion.
This is an exciting time to join the Information, Advice & Assistance Service - you will be responsible for developing the Sensory Impairment Support Service, as well as being an Assistant Team Lead for the Information, Advice & Assistance Service (IAA), supporting the Team Lead and Assistant Team Lead in the day to day running of the team.
IAAT is made up of a range of social care practitioners and social workers. You will be working with IAA Team Lead & assistant to balance resources and ensure the hierarchy of support is embedded within team practice. You will be also be expected to support the team with building links with the community, developing relationships with other agencies and community groups.
It is expected that you will have substantial experience within the management of change and maintenance of a cultural shift. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate an ability to mentor and support staff in completing proportionate assessments to determine eligibility, supervise staff, deputise for the Team Manager including decision making on new referrals and work in accordance with legislation, regulations, guidance and departmental policies
