About the role In your role as Analyst you will make a meaningful and valued contribution from the outset. This role will provide a great opportunity to produce high-quality investment research for the Developed Market Equities (DME) team’s investment decisions and will evaluate the analysis from other team members. The research role will be focused on industries relevant to the mandates being managed by the DME team. What you will be doing Identify investment opportunities which align with the DME investment philosophy Provide rigorous, fundamental research for each investment candidate to understand the business model, assess the company’s prospects and evaluate how the company is being valued by the market Take ownership of allocated investment candidates and holdings, ensuring up-to-date knowledge and awareness of key material investment considerations (including ESG) which will be significant over the investment horizon of USS Document research (including engagement) and recommendations in line with the requirements set out in the Equities Documentation Requirements Continually evaluate the validity of the initial investment hypotheses in light of real-world evidence Seek continuous improvement in the investment platform across all dimensions to deliver on the team’s objectives Collaborate with other analysts within equities but also across the wider group to include RI, PMG and Credit About you We know that sometimes people can be put off applying for a job if they don't tick every box, if you're excited about working for us and have most of the skills or experience we're looking for, then please apply, regardless of whether you meet all the requirements outlined in this profile. To be successful in the role you will have: Degree level education Professional qualifications (working towards CFA or equivalent desirable) Familiarity with Bloomberg (desirable) Demonstrable interest in financial markets Strong analytical ability Regional specific experience (North America) - desirable Sector specific experience (Tech, Healthcare, Consumer, Industrials) - desirable Strong understanding of valuation techniques and fundamental analysis Good understanding of corporate governance, public equity markets and Net Zero Good oral and written communication skills Why join us?
