Make a difference - Join us as a Governor at City College Plymouth
This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of the College, ensuring its financial sustainability, robust governance and effective risk oversight. We are particularly interested in candidates with a background in financial planning, auditing processes and risk management, who can bring their skills to help the College navigate challenges and seize opportunities in the Further Education sector.
City College Plymouth is looking for dynamic, innovative, strategic thinkers who are seeking to broaden their horizons, contribute to a thriving, outstanding College environment and be part of a group of Governors who have a passion for education and enriching the lives of our students and the community we serve.
The Corporation Board makes an important contribution to the life of our students and the College, and we aspire to outstanding governance with a focus on ensuring that our strategy meets the needs of the community we serve.
Your valuable experience can help us shape the future of our College, supporting its mission to deliver high-quality education and positive outcomes for students. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the community while gaining valuable board-level experience. In return, you will work with a great team of aspirational people and gain insight into a range of strategic aspects, while making a positive impact on young people, the local community and the wider community.
Whilst previous Governor experience would be useful, it is not a prerequisite, as you will benefit from a well-supported induction and training programme.
City College Plymouth provides education and training for around 14,000 students and apprentices. Our students are principally drawn from across the South West; we also attract students from across the country and internationally. We are keen to secure applicants from a diverse range of people, reflecting the diversity of our students and the city we serve. Whilst this is a voluntary role, expenses will be covered.
If you have the motivation and experience to help us make a difference to people’s lives, please contact Laura Sadler, Director of Governance, to discuss the role in more detail, or send a copy of your CV with a covering letter outlining why you are interested in becoming a Governor at City College Plymouth. We look forward to hearing from you.
