We are currently hiring a credit controller/finance assistant to join our Corporate Services team in Hartlebury, UK, on a permanent basis. This key role will be joining an existing team of management accountants and purchase ledger clerks. We offer genuine opportunities for enhancing knowledge and experience.
This position will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.
Purpose of the Role
The Credit Controller will work as part of the Corporate Service team, posting cash in a timely manner and ensuring debtors ledgers are accurate, whilst providing reports to key account managers and the senior management team.
Main Responsibilities
In addition to performing such other duties as may reasonably be required; they will also perform the key tasks below:
1. Posting cash on a daily basis for each bank account, ensuring accuracy and timely postings.
2. Daily, weekly, monthly reporting of cash collected and variance to target and bank balance report, including accessing various online banking systems.
3. Liaising with the company’s business units/account managers to resolve customer queries and remove reasons for delays in payment.
4. Building good working relationships with key account managers and ensuring regular communication.
5. Active monitoring of critical payment dates of key client monthly payroll invoices.
6. Alerting the account manager and payroll team of high-risk non-payments that will impact payroll release timing, advising senior management if critical deadlines are missed.
7. Performing credit checks of all new customer accounts and ad hoc requests for existing customers, maintaining alerts/monitoring activities against credit limits as required.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grades A to C including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent.
2. AAT Level 2 or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
2. Ability to manage conflicting workloads, priorities and multitask.
3. Writing business communications such as e-mails and letters.
4. Ability to think laterally and solve problems.
5. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
6. Deliver a high level of customer service.
