This is a great opportunity to join a major Civil Engineering contractor. They specialise in Transportation, Highways and major Civil Engineering projects. They are seeking a POS Planner, with experience of list planning and carrying out COSS and Crane Controller duties, to join them on a full-time, permanent basis. This role is based at their office in Petersfield, Hampshire, with frequent travel to operational work sites as required. Job Description: Working alongside their in-house On Track Plant team, you will help to deliver safe plant operations for a wide range of maintenance and enhancement projects along the railway. Taking responsibility for the onsite management of OTP operations, you’ll act as the single point of contact to ensure that all works are delivered safely and efficiently, on time and to budget. Prior to works, you’ll take responsibility for the preparation and issue of POS packs, lift plans and documents in line with the company’s POS procedures and rail regulations. Working with in-house OTP, arboriculture, and civil engineering teams you will help to plan plant resources to support projects across the business. Responsibilities include:
* Ensure all work involving operated plant is compliant with internal and external procedures and standards, POS Rules and legislation
* Be responsible for the on-site management of OTP operations, reporting any issues to Senior POS Operations Manager immediately.
* Ensure that sites are run in a safe, efficient and economical manner
* Ensure that works are delivered to program and budget
* Preparation and issue of POS Packs and lift plans, ensuring site details are correct and cover all works to be carried out
* Participate in the development of OTP plans for the projects allocated
* Work with wider team to plan overall OTP resourcing
* Undertake site visits for purposes including POS planning and wrap inspections.
* Ensure that all data, reports and documentation are provided as mandated by the Company’s POS procedure
* Controlling documents to the position
* Support internal and external audit processes, ensuring effective record-keeping.
* Act as their representative on site, ensuring good relationships are maintained with the client or their representatives at all times
* Deliver Toolbox Talks and briefings prior to the commencement of works
* Undertake other activities associated with railway construction work for which the individual is deemed competent as required and directed
* Ensure that those for whom you have responsibility understand operate and adhere to company procedures.
* Observe and follow all applicable safe methods of working, and health, safety and environmental rules/procedures. Report any incidents or Close Calls immediately to the appropriate person
* Undertake training as required by your manager or the Company.

Requirements You will have a good understanding of the POS Safe Works planning process and will have a solid understanding of the standards and regulations required to ensure the safe operation on Plant on track. You’ll hold PTS, COSS and Crane Controller qualifications and may have prior experience of acting as a POS rep in a similar company. You’ll be experienced in the lift planning process and may hold a Lift Planner ticket and IOSH Managing Safely. Your clear communication skills will enable you to engage with everyone on track to ensure that work is carried out safely and efficiently. Acting as the business onsite representative, you’ll be able to maintain good working relationships with clients and subcontractors at all times. And you’ll be happy and able to deliver Toolbox Talks and briefings to operational teams prior to the start of works. Requirements:
* A thorough understanding of the POS Safe Work Planning process
* A good understanding of relevant standards, POS scheme requirement and codes of practice
* Significant experience of Lift Planning processes
* Highly organised with the proven ability to plan logistics within set timescales
* Holds PTS and COSS tickets
* Holds Crane Controller ticket
* Have knowledge of railway plant and/or construction activities
* Good communication skills with the ability to supervise others and motivate a team
* Self-motivated and a team player
* Physically fit, able to walk distance to work sites.
* Able and willing to work in inclement weather
* Good IT skills with experience using email, MS Word and Excel
* Strong understanding of, and application of health, safety & environment practices
* Full driving license
