The Role of Assistant Head of Academy Football Development
The successful candidate will work under the Head of Academy Football Development and assist with the implementation of the Academy football development programme across age groups U7-U18. The role will specifically require assisting the implementation of our coaching curriculum, training and playing methodology, coach development programme and management of coaching standards for players and staff as directed by the Head of Academy Football Development.
Main Accountabilities
* To assist with the implementation of the training programme, coaching methodology and playing methodology for age groups U7-U18 as directed by Head of Academy Football Development
* To assist with the implementation of long-term talent profiling processes for U9-U18 age groups such as Individual Development Plans (IDPs) and interdisciplinary reviews, being a critical member of the interdisciplinary team
* To assist with squad assessments and player succession planning for U9-U18 age groups
* To assist the monitoring and tracking of squad selections and utilisation for U9-U18 age groups ensuring decisions are made in the best interests of player development
* Provide input into decision making processes for retain and release decisions for age groups U7-U18 as requested
* To assist with the implementation of coach competency framework, coach development programme and coaching code
* To assist with the development of coaching staff by supporting staff with their development action plans in line with coach development programme
* To assist with implementation of age specific games programme for age groups U7-U18
* To assist with the management of coaching standards within Academy with a specific focus on U7-U18 age groups ensuring coaches adhere to the training programme and training and playing methodologies
* To work with the Recruitment Department to support the identification, recruitment and retention of potential talent
* To organise and communicate weekly coaching staff schedule
* To complete and submit timesheets for casual coaching staff
* To monitor and track data capture for coaching department on key club systems as directed
* To coach Academy age groups as required
* To complete any other duties as directed by Head of Academy Football Development and senior Academy and Club staff
* To ensure that any concerns you observe, or are raised with you in your role, are shared with the Safeguarding Team through appropriate channels
