Job Purpose:
We are seeking a dedicated Programme Tutor for Health & Social Care to join our team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will take tutor responsibility for a group of students, deliver science-based units, and contribute to course management and planning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Act as a Programme Tutor for a caseload of students, focusing on retention and achievement.
2. Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorials on health and social care courses.
3. Implement innovative teaching techniques and use new technologies to promote equality and diversity.
4. Manage student morale and discipline, ensuring an appropriate learning environment.
5. Record and report data accurately, including eILPs, registers, assessments, and student progress.
6. Maintain teaching files and ensure quality assurance procedures are met.
7. Stay updated with academic/vocational subjects and maintain industry links.
8. Support safeguarding and equality and diversity initiatives.
9. Liaise with course teams, student support teams, and parents/carers.
10. Cover classes for absent colleagues and monitor student absences and behavior.
11. Attend parents' evenings and promotional activities.
Person Specification:
1. Relevant vocational qualification and minimum grade C/4 GCSE in maths and English.
2. Experience in the health and social care sector and delivering NCFE/CACHE qualifications.
3. Understanding of T Level qualifications and experience using Microsoft Teams and ProSolution/ProMonitor.
4. Innovative and competent in creating a stimulating learning environment.
5. Effective in managing behavior and motivating students.
6. Strong understanding of science topics related to health.
7. Excellent team-working, communication, administrative, and organisational skills.
8. Confident in carrying out assessments through role play.
