We are now seeking a Trainee Flood Modeller to join our dynamic team. This position is ideal for experienced apprentice civil engineers, early career engineers, or recent graduates with a degree in civil or environmental engineering or a related scientific discipline. Role Overview: As a Trainee Flood Modeller at McCloy Consulting, you will gain valuable experience in a range of projects, including: Flood Risk Assessments Surface Water and Urban Drainage Design Natural Flood Management & River Restoration Catchment Management Projects You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers, hydrologists, and environmental scientists, learning how to develop flood models and contribute to the delivery of sustainable water management solutions. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the development of hydraulic and hydrological models for flood risk assessments. Support the design and delivery of surface water and drainage projects. Learn to interpret data and provide technical solutions for flood management. Collaborate with team members and clients to ensure the successful completion of projects. Assist in preparing reports and documentation for both internal use and client deliverables. Qualifications & Skills: An apprenticeship or degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific field. Strong numerical and analytical skills. Interest in spatial analysis techniques and an interest in GIS. Interest in learning hydraulic and hydrological modelling software (e.g., TUFLOW, HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM).
