We are now looking for a reliable and customer-focused Facilities Support Assistant to join our team on a job share basis at our Ipswich Head Office. In this varied role, you’ll provide essential post room and facilities support services to our internal teams, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. This includes basic maintenance tasks, managing company pool cars, sorting mail and parcels, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment. You will also play a key part in liaising with contractors and suppliers, managing deliveries, and assisting with health and safety checks.
Your standard working day will be 08:30 to 17:00, with alternating weeks of 15 and 22.5 hours (Week 1 - Thursday, Friday; Week 2 - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday). This position is advertised on a job share basis. Therefore, you must also be available to cover the holiday and sickness of your job share partner.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Perform health and safety checks and ensure documentation is up to date.
2. Basic maintenance tasks (e.g., changing lightbulbs, basic vehicle maintenance).
3. Oversee the cleaning and servicing of company pool cars.
4. Manage office and warehouse supplies, ensuring storage areas are tidy.
5. Sort and deliver incoming mail and parcels, and arrange courier collections.
6. Assist with low-level H&S administration and basic facilities management.
7. Maintain kitchen areas, grounds, and parking areas.
8. Salt spreading in winter months and general site cleanliness.
Skills & Experience:
1. Previous relevant experience.
2. Strong customer service, organisational, and timekeeping skills.
3. IT literate with basic administrative experience.
4. Full driving licence.
5. Calm under pressure, with excellent communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
