Position Snapshot Position Summary Nestlé Product Technology Centre - Confectionery (NPTC) is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Pilot Plant Operator to join the team at our York Research and Development Centre. As a Senior Pilot Plant Operator, you will be a key team member working in our state-of-the-art experimental pilot plant and logistics team and occasionally on other Nestlé sites both in the UK and abroad. In York, we are a team of 170 from over 30 nationalities. Our objective is to provide ideas, technical innovation, and scientific support to continually improve and grow the confectionery business. A Day in the Life of a Senior Pilot Plant Operator As a Senior Pilot Plant Operator, you will be responsible for: Planning, execution, and follow-up of operational tasks in R&D. Working closely with specialists, project managers, and experts on trials/tests. Building operational knowledge and contributing to knowledge sharing in R&D. Coaching and training less experienced colleagues. Ensuring a safe workplace through risk assessments and quality standards. Assisting project leaders in conducting pilot plant and factory trials. Managing compliance documentation and participating in LEAN initiatives. Supporting knowledge enhancements and driving best practices. What Will Make You Successful? To be successful in this role, you will be passionate, proactive, and results-focused. You may have production or R&D experience, or be a recent graduate. You will also have: Significant and in-depth practical experience in your area of specialization. Experience in managing trials/tests end-to-end. Up-to-date knowledge of quality, safety, and hygiene requirements. Proven R&D or operating/factory experience in the product category. Significant exposure to project and support activities. Leadership experience in project initiatives. Demonstrated continuous improvement initiatives.
