We are looking for a dynamic Trading Manager to join our vibrant team on a 9 month fixed term contract.
What You’ll Do:
As a Trading Manager at Musgrave, you will play a crucial role in driving commercial success by working closely with our Depot Teams to meet targets and provide exceptional service to our retailers, foodservice operators, and customers. Your efforts will directly contribute to improving our operations, optimizing performance, and continually enhancing our customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive Sales & Profitability: Deliver category sales, margin, and profit that exceed targets. Analyze weekly performance against budget and forecasts, and create actionable plans to address any shortfalls.
2. Supplier & Partnership Management: Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate pricing, and ensure compliance with regulatory changes within your category. Leverage opportunities to enhance digital strategies for online retail and foodservice.
3. Strategic Promotions: Develop promotional strategies to boost sales and profit. Collaborate with suppliers to ensure that promotions deliver the best sales outcomes.
4. Range & Product Strategy: Lead the successful launch and execution of product ranges. Work with category planning teams to review performance and develop new ranges and exclusive options based on market trends.
5. Seasonal Leadership: Oversee sales and profit for key seasonal events, acting on market trends and competitive pricing strategies to drive growth.
6. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster a strong working relationship with the sales teams and key customers to drive category change and business success.
7. Price & Margin Management: Continuously assess and optimize pricing strategies, ensuring market-leading price positioning and customer profitability.
8. People Leadership: Inspire, coach, and develop a high-performing, engaged team. Set clear goals, offer regular feedback, and foster a collaborative environment.
9. Supply Chain Efficiency: Ensure smooth inbound services and maintain reliable product supply to meet customer demands.

We are looking for a self-motivated and results-driven individual with a strong commercial acumen and excellent communication skills. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and have a passion for driving growth, we want to hear from you!
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years of experience in the FMCG Retail or Foodservice sectors, with a proven track record in a Trading or Buying role.
2. Strong negotiation, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
3. Degree-level education (preferred).
4. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively under pressure.
Skills:
1. Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
2. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and confidently.
