Staff Nurse - Adult Community Services - Bodmin SDEC/CATU
Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (CFT) is excited to offer opportunities for Staff Nurse within our newly developed Community and Assessment Treatment Unit (CATU) and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC). This initiative is one of the many ways the NHS is working to provide the right care, in the right place, at the right time for patients.
Patients are admitted directly for assessment from home or emergency department. This aims to benefit both patients and the healthcare system by reducing waiting times and hospital admissions, where appropriate.
Do you enjoy acute nursing and dynamic patient flow? The CATU & SDEC model is an innovative and dynamic patient pathway, where a key aspect is the assessment of the acute patient and treatment of symptoms, aiming to return the patient on the same day to their home with the right support. You will be empowered to utilise a range of nursing skills (supported by training) to support patients through clinical assessment and ongoing treatment.
You should possess a commitment to team working and innovative delivery of excellent standards of care. You will need to demonstrate a real enthusiasm for using extended skills and a desire for ongoing professional development.
Main Duties of the Job
You will be empowered to utilise a range of nursing skills to support patients through clinical admission, assessment, and ongoing treatment. There will be opportunities to lead patient care, taking on differing nursing roles on the unit such as day case referrals and ensuring that patient care is maintained to a high standard.
About Us
We're an NHS community and mental health provider Trust based in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly. We deliver community and hospital-based care to improve people's physical and mental health. We also provide specialist support to people with dementia or a learning disability.
We are a people organization, and people matter to us. As part of the team, you'll help support the health and wellbeing of the people who live and visit this beautiful part of the UK.
Over 4,000 people make up the Trust, including doctors, nurses, therapists, plus admin and support staff. We work in people's homes, in community clinics and bases. Some staff work from one of our 13 community hospitals. Our aspiration is to have great people, provide great care, be a great place to work, and a great partner.
Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of the population in Cornwall is supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon. In the summer and during other holidays, many people choose to visit the area, increasing the number of people who use our services.
