Whether you're building on your experience or already working at a senior or associate level, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, people-focused consultancy just outside Southampton.\n\n You’ll be part of a dynamic, supportive team delivering innovative mechanical design solutions across healthcare, education, and commercial sectors—on projects ranging from small-scale refurbishments to complex, multi-million-pound developments.\n\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\n\n In this role, you’ll lead or support the delivery of mechanical building services designs from early-stage feasibility through to detailed design and tender submissions. You’ll engage directly with clients, collaborate with project teams, and bring a strong technical presence to every stage of the project lifecycle.\n\n Your day-to-day will include:\n\nDeveloping detailed mechanical designs and complete tender packages\nProducing technical specifications, cost reports, and project documentation\nCoordinating with design teams, clients, contractors, and stakeholders\nOverseeing project delivery across all RIBA stages\nPreparing load analysis, zoning strategies, and Builders Work requirements\nInputting to fee proposals and managing project programmes\nMentoring junior engineers and helping to shape the next generation of talent\nEnsuring compliance with industry standards and best practices\n\n What We’re Looking For\n\n We're looking for an engineer who is both technically strong and a great team player.
Ideally, you’ll bring:\n\nA background in Mechanical Building Services Design (HND/Degree qualified)\nExperience across healthcare, education, and/or commercial sectors\nProficiency with design software and strong understanding of industry standards\nMembership with CIBSE or working toward it (preferred)\nGreat communication and client engagement skills\nA proactive, self-starting approach to work\n\n The Culture & Perks\n\n This consultancy places genuine emphasis on work-life balance, personal growth, and team cohesion.
