We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Part-Time Research Assistant to support ongoing projects in biotechnology research. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in life sciences, research methodology, and scientific writing. The successful candidate will assist with structuring experimental data, synthesizing findings, and contributing to the preparation of research manuscripts and reports.
Key Responsibilities
Research Support:
* Assist in designing, planning, and conducting laboratory experiments in alignment with project objectives.
* Collect and organize experimental data with attention to accuracy, ensuring it is structured for easy interpretation and reporting.
* Maintain detailed records of research activities, ensuring compliance with protocols and standards.
Scientific Knowledge & Data Structuring:
* Collaborate with researchers to interpret experimental findings and organize them into coherent summaries.
* Use strong foundational knowledge of biotechnology and molecular biology to support research activities and troubleshoot experimental workflows.
* Assist in compiling, structuring, and formatting raw data into tables, figures, and other visual aids for research documentation.
Research Writing Assistance:
* Draft, proofread, and edit sections of research papers, grant proposals, and technical documents.
* Conduct thorough literature reviews to identify and summarize relevant findings for ongoing studies and publications.
* Organize and format manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals, adhering to specific style and submission guidelines.
General Tasks:
* Prepare materials, reagents, and equipment for laboratory experiments.
* Stay updated on current scientific advancements and apply new knowledge to ongoing projects.
* Assist in project management tasks, including tracking milestones and timelines.
Qualifications and Skills
Educational Background:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
Scientific Knowledge:
* Strong foundational understanding of molecular biology, cell biology, and biotechnology principles.
* Familiarity with experimental techniques such as PCR, ELISA, gel electrophoresis, or similar methods.
Writing and Communication:
* Proven ability to write and edit scientific documents clearly and concisely.
* Experience conducting literature reviews and synthesizing information from multiple sources.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to structure and present data effectively.
