Publishing house and events organiser Place North is seeking an events producer to join the team based in Manchester city centre.
Place North is well-known and respected in the property community for delivering top quality news and events. We publish news and host events through regional titles Place North West, Place Yorkshire, and Place North East.
Our events range from roundtables and panel sessions to conferences and large parties, attracting business professionals from across the globe.
This is a fantastic and diverse role for an enthusiastic and energetic events professional to work on an exciting range of projects.
You will be joining a small and friendly team, with a passion for delivering quality content and events.
The role
You will deliver in-person events, including conferences, roundtables, networking socials, and large evening events including the popular 750-person Place Party.
You will be involved in all stages of event planning and delivery, making this a perfect opportunity to hone your experience in a business-to-business environment.
You will work closely with the editorial and commercial teams to ensure plans are integrated and delivered within budget, on time and to the highest standard.
Responsibilities include
* Project managing and delivering events from our annual portfolio of existing conferences, roundtables and socials
* Developing positive relationships with sponsors
* Managing suppliers including venues, audio-visual companies, and photographers
* Managing speaker communications pre-event, during and post-event
* Delegate management and handling general event queries
* Working on site at live events, including managing suppliers, speakers and delegates
* Managing the marketing and promotion of your events to drive ticket sales, including social media, telesales if required, and working with the production team on marketing material
* Assist with delivering bespoke client events as required
* Representing the business at various industry networking events
* Sourcing venues and other suppliers as required, including negotiating costs
* Research and provide new ideas for event and marketing delivery
* Ad hoc tasks required by the business
The person
We are looking for someone with ambition, drive and a positive attitude, who is able to work to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy. The successful candidate will have a high level of pride in their work and will always be looking to improve.
Skills and experience required
* Experience of managing & executing successful B2B events
* Graduate with a 2:1 or a 1st degree
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Attention to detail
* Time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at once
* Experience of delivering projects to deadlines and within budget
* Team player but able to work independently
* Excellent computer skills with MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint
* Good analytical skills for campaign monitoring and conducting post-event marketing analysis
* Flexibility, as evening work and early morning work will be required to deliver events
* Ability to commute to early-morning/late-evening events in Manchester city centre
The package and benefits
* £28,000 – £30,000 salary per annum, dependant on experience
* 23 days holiday, plus Christmas week off and bank holidays

Working hours are 8/8.30 – 4/4.30, Monday to Friday, with additional hours required as necessary for events.
