Band 2 Radiotherapy Aide (Sutton)
2 PART TIME POSTS AVAILABLE 22.5 / 30 HOURS PER WEEK

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who thrives on working in a busy patient facing role and who wants to join our friendly and hardworking team of Radiotherapy Aides.
This role is relied on by the radiotherapy team to primarily perform administration, clerical and reception duties as well as ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for the patients attending Radiotherapy. This role also requires you to be an approachable and engaged 'first face' for our patients as appropriate throughout the radiotherapy pathway.
We are looking for an efficient and organised person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will also be IT literate with an interest in working in a healthcare and technology driven environment.
Main duties of the job
1. To carry out in a responsible and efficient way the provision of reception duties & clerical support to the radiotherapy department.
2. Provide patient support as appropriate to assist the patient pathway.
3. Be able to work flexible hours to support effective service provision.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
4. Provide friendly and professional reception of patients and their escorts.
5. Record the attendance of patients in the appointment system.
6. Make bookings for radiotherapy treatments in collaboration with the radiographic staff.
7. Arrange patients’ appointments and provide summary and assist in arranging hospital transport and outpatient clinic appointments as required.
8. Contact clinical specialists and doctors as directed by radiographers and nursing staff.
9. Greet visitors to department and make contact as appropriate. To appraise the superintendent radiographer of stock levels for routine supplies and consumables and complete purchase order for approval as necessary.
10. Collect patient related data, immobilisation equipment and other radiotherapy equipment upon request of the radiographers. To include gathering details of previous treatment from outside the Trust.
11. Prepare and collect documentation for meetings as requested.
12. Make room bookings as requested.
13. Ensure patients are prepared correctly for planned procedure following defined protocols.

Essential criteria
14. General education to GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent
15. GCSE English Language & Mathematics Grade 4 or above or equivalent
16. Be proficient with computer systems to manage bookings or similar.
17. Have experience of working in client facing roles

18. Evidence of previous admin and clerical roles
19. Experience in hospital environment

Flu Vaccination – What We Expect of our Staff
At The Royal Marsden we have an immune compromised patient population who we must protect as much as we can against the flu virus. Each year, seasonal flu affects thousands of people in the UK. Occurring mainly in winter, it is an infectious respiratory disease capable of producing symptoms ranging from those similar to a common cold, through to very severe or even fatal disease.
The wellbeing of our staff and patients is of the upmost importance to us, and it is the expectation of The Royal Marsden that all patient-facing staff have an annual flu vaccination, provided free of charge by the Trust.
