The role is based in the site's canteen and auxiliary production areas, with potential to cover issuing of PPE to operatives during periods of others' annual leave. The operative is expected to carry out required cleaning and hygiene tasks, to ensure that the standard of hygiene in areas outside of production supports the hygienic production of fresh meat and does not compromise the food safety or quality objectives of the company.
Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure that debris is not allowed to accumulate within the canteen/corridors.
2. Ensure cleaning tasks are carried out with proper regard to Health and Safety and COSHH requirements at all times.
3. Maintain a clean and hygienic condition to the canteen and general areas as required.
4. Make ready all fabric protective clothing for operatives covering annual leave.
Knowledge and Skills
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a background involving maintenance and cleanliness of a busy working environment. They must be problem-solving and able to maintain calm under the pressure of multi-tasking. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and be flexible to accommodate the needs of the business if these change during the working day, working in different areas. Where areas in need of cleaning are observed, the individual must be prepared to bring this to the attention of their supervisor and together put a plan in place to get this completed.
