This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially-minded individual to provide strategic technical leadership within this highly regarded, family-owned, growing SME. Headquartered on the Wirral, the company supplies speciality varnishes, resins, compounds and insulating products for the high specification electrical and electronic industries worldwide. With a partnership approach to the marketplace, the company prides itself on developing a wide range of customer specified products and manufactures both in the UK and in Asia. The company currently enjoys a strong turnover underpinned by strong financial performance and this new technical leadership will ensure the business continues to grow significantly in the near future.
Reporting to the Owner and Managing Director, the appointee will enjoy overall responsibility for the company’s range of products; their ongoing performance and future development to ensure their technical and commercial relevance for the market. With a strongly analytical and detail-minded approach, the appointee will ensure a strong understanding of polymer based formulation markets, drive forward new product development, review current ranges and investigate new technical areas whilst ensuring material and cost control is at the forefront of considerations. The individual will welcome regular customer and market involvement, deliver strong leadership & management and demonstrate continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment, along with being excited by the opportunity to lead and deliver technical performance to support and enable ambitious growth targets.
Candidates, ideally qualified to degree level, will be self-starters who can demonstrate drive, tenacity and leadership coupled with exemplary communication & presentation skills, strong teamwork, a high level of integrity and a desire to build strong relationships both internally and externally. Listening and influencing will be key competencies along with strong analysis & decision-making skills and the ability to manage positive change. An enthusiastic outlook, strong IT and financial awareness and a track record of engaging others to deliver exceptional results within a technical remit will all be required to grasp the opportunity to make a real difference to this business along with a potential higher profile as success is delivered.
