A little more about your role…
Climate change is one of the most pressing global challenges of our time, with significant impacts on ecosystems, economies, and communities worldwide. The transportation and construction sectors are major contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, making the need for effective carbon management more critical than ever. As part of our commitment to sustainability and carbon reduction, we are seeking a dedicated Carbon Analyst to join our growing team delivering highway and transportation schemes for Local Authorities across the UK.
You will be involved with the carbon management of highway and transport schemes delivered for Local Authority clients. As a carbon analyst your responsibilities will include:
* Offering advice on carbon management practices to ensure projects embed decarbonisation throughout the project lifecycle.
* Assessing and quantifying emissions from schemes, including capital, operational and user emissions.
* Setting baselines to inform carbon budgets and reduction targets.
* Demonstrating carbon reduction through identification and embedment of low carbon interventions in line with the carbon reduction hierarchy.
* Supporting local authorities to embed carbon management within their procurement processes and existing contracts.
In your role, you’ll also have opportunities to work across WSP’s wider Local Government sector teams specialising in carbon management and broader sustainability challenges.
