Role Purpose:
This is a key role created in the Technology Industry Practice in line with Chubb’s ambitious growth plans in the UKI. The successful candidate will underwrite multiple lines of business, including Property, Casualty, Professional indemnity, and Cyber for both indigenous and multinational Technology clients. You will join the Technology Team in the National Underwriting Centre, a centre of excellence for service and technical knowledge.
The successful candidate will manage and underwrite their own accounts, working with other Technology underwriters and brokers in the UK&I. You will look to develop your technical knowledge and broader business skills in this specialist line of Chubb’s Industry practices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Underwrite and process a renewable package business in line with our underwriting appetite, authority limits, strategies, and business goals.
* Manage allocation of accounts and mid-term adjustments with responsibility for financial metrics.
* Work in conjunction with the NUC Technology team, Technical Team, Technology Practice, and COG to ensure efficient working practices are in place and adhered to as per established package underwriting guidelines.
* Deliver excellent service to internal and external customers.
* Liaise with the UK&I Branches, participate in meetings with brokers, clients, internal departments, COG, and external advisers.
* Engage and contribute positively in business priorities such as cross-selling.
* Develop trading partnerships with our brokers to aid retention and drive growth.
* Work within the framework of the Chubb Code of Conduct, Compliance policies, Peer Review, and the protocols established by the Company.
* Provide market feedback to the wider team and management.
* Engage in project-based work in line with product development and promoting Industry Practices.
Qualifications
* Experience in the Commercial insurance market is required, along with an understanding and strong desire to develop knowledge of Technology-specific risks, exposures, and terminology in this evolving segment.
* Demonstrate a practical and common-sense approach to dealing with differing situations and an ability to tackle problems often against tight timeframes.
* Ambitious, organized, and self-driven, taking ownership of personal and professional development.
* Strong interest in Multinational programs.
* Expected to undertake “on the job” training, which may involve working in other Chubb offices.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Proven track record of establishing and maintaining trading relationships with brokers.
* Progress towards, or already achieved, professional insurance qualifications (CII).
