EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We have a great opportunity for you to join our Water Quality and Environment team as a Senior Environmental Officer. The role involves managing environmental risks across designated regions (East), ensuring compliance with permits and regulations, managing the Corrective Action Reporting (CAR) process, and facilitating Environment Agency (EA) audits. The officer will act as the primary contact for environmental compliance issues, working closely with operational teams to proactively identify and mitigate risks, and ensuring sites are always 'audit ready'.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Identify, assess, and manage environmental risks associated with operations across designated regions.
* Review and update environmental permits to reflect current operational practices.
* Lead Environment Agency site inspections, coordinating with internal teams to ensure audit readiness.
* Conduct regular, risk-based site inspections to ensure compliance and audit preparedness, aiming for a set number of inspections per month.
* Manage the CAR process, ensuring timely resolution of non-compliance issues.
* Utilise PowerBI dashboards, TeRI BI reports, and eSCADA trends to monitor environmental performance.
* Collaborate with operational teams, scientists, and technicians to address compliance issues.
* Develop and improve data reporting practices for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE
Experience in Waste Water Recycling treatment processes is preferred. Ability to analyse large datasets, identify trends, and draw conclusions is essential. Proven experience in continuous improvement and process enhancements is beneficial. A full UK Driving License is mandatory.
