We are a growing Practice, and are therefore looking to grow our existing reception team.
We operate Monday to Friday and offer set working patterns made up of the following shifts:
1. Long days (08:00 to 18:30)
2. Mornings (08:00 to 13:00)
3. Afternoons (13:30 to 18:30)
We are looking for an individual who is calm,patient and understanding, and who can interact effectively with all types ofpeople.
The post-holder will work within the reception team, sharing a range ofduties that support the slick operational running of the overall Practice.
Main duties of the job
The aim of the role is to:
4. Offer general assistance to the Practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
5. Receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
6. Undertake a variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the Practice.
7. Facilitate effective communication between patients, members of the primary health care team, secondary care, and other associated healthcare agencies.
The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team and on their own initiative. They will be confident in using the phone and in dealing with people face-to-face. They will be able to work accurately and methodically through the daily tasks, whilst remaining calm and measured when unexpected work comes through.

Our reception team are the face of the Practice. It is their role to welcome all patients and visitors into the Practice and support them to access the appropriate service / support.
The main duties of the role include:
8. Answering incoming calls and handling queries.
9. Contacting patients with messages from the clinical team regarding their care.
10. Processing queries and requests made via online services.
11. Processing incoming medical documents relating to patient care.
12. Processing incoming emails.
13. Arranging appointments.
14. Registering new patients.
15. Preparing and handing over pathology samples for transfer to the lab.
16. Processing incoming emails.
17. Processing repeat prescriptions requests.
18. Opening and distributing post.
19. Opening and closing practice premises.
20. Completing general administrative duties to support the Practice operation as required
21. Attending and participating in staff meetings and training.
22. Providing general assistance to colleagues, as required.
