Begin a career in a role where you can really make a difference and get job satisfaction you would struggle to find elsewhere!
We're expanding in Cumbernauld and on the lookout for active and person-centred colleagues with experience of supporting individuals who have complex needs such as autism and behaviours that challenge.
Our fabulous #TeamNLCumbernauld have a variety of contracts available covering part time, full time and relief. As the support we provide is tailored to each individual, shifts will typically cover from 10am-10pm with some sleepovers available. There are also shifts that will cover from 10am-6pm.
For these roles, we will need you to hold a full, manual UK driving licence. Access to a car would be great but this is not essential as many of the people we support have their own vehicles.
The Role
You'll become part of a friendly, fun team who support young men with complex care needs in their own homes on a 24/7 basis.
As a Support Practitioner, you'll play a crucial role in supporting these individuals with all aspects of daily living, including cooking, personal care, managing personal finances, assisting with medication, attending appointments, and supporting managers with care plans and relevant documentation. You will support individuals with their hobbies and interests which include community involvement, walking, drives in the countryside, going swimming, exercising, listening to music, and meeting friends for lunch or dinner along with art classes. It's definitely never a dull day here and no two days are ever the same.
The people we support have barriers to their communication, so it's essential that you have an excellent grasp of the English language.
All we’ll need you to bring is:
1. Full UK driving licence
2. A caring and compassionate attitude
3. The ability to work well in a team
4. Good communication and organisational skills
5. A positive attitude with a willingness to learn
6. A creative drive to improve the lives of the individuals you support
7. Confidence in the use of computers
Sound interesting? What are you waiting for? Apply today, we can't wait to hear from you!
