There's never been a better time to join us What we’re looking for An excellent opportunity has arisen for a multi-skilled Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Cumbernauld. The purpose of the role is to ensure that all machinery and equipment is installed, maintained and operated to maximise production output and efficiencies. On site, we produce multi formats across a number of high speed modern lines, producing to high quality standards whilst maximising production outputs and minimising overhead costs. Essential Criteria for the role: A can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills are essential Experience working on and maintaining equipment and machinery Flexible / team worker A sound understanding of Health and Safety standards is essential "Self starter" / proactive and ability to set and prioritise workloads Your responsibilities will include Provide technical support to ensure maximum efficiency from production and engineering assets, ensuring planned and corrective maintenance tasks are completed as scheduled. Carry out fault diagnosis and repair breakdowns promptly to ensure downtime is minimised. Input data into Maintenance CMMS system Ensure maximum business benefit is gained from all budget spend. Analyse line efficiency, wastage and downtime data with a view to identifying areas for performance improvement. Manage contractors as/when required to comply with contractor management procedures. Carry out all duties in accordance with safe working practices and factory hygiene standards. Liaise and support Project teams throughout all phases of the process. Provide a high level of customer service at all times Produce detailed written reports when and where required i.e. downtime sheets and line log books. Build and maintain key relationships with internal and external customer base to ensure objectives and engineering strategy is delivered. When identifying faulty equipment consult manufacturers manuals & read detailed mechanical exploded drawings so correct replacement parts can be ordered. Contribute appropriately to team meetings and support the implementation of all team initiatives. Operate machinery if required to ensure efficient manufacturing team working. What you’ll bring Educated to City & Guilds level or equivalent in a Mechanical/Electrical engineering discipline. Preferably experienced within a multi skilled food manufacturing or FMCG environment. In depth knowledge of maintenance systems and processes. Proven knowledge and experience of initiating and implementing continuous improvements, lean manufacturing and Six sigma techniques. Strong IT skills.
