MES System Manager
+Permanent opportunity
+Hybrid working in Northamptonshire
+£90-£100k per annum + up to 15% bonus
The system manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and IT, to integrate and improve system functionalities.
Key Responsibilities
1. MES System Management
o Oversee the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of the existing MES.
o Ensure system availability and performance to meet production requirements.
o Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to integrate MES with other enterprise systems such as ERP.
o Ensure DR systems are functional and tested annually.
o Operate as the subject matter expert on the MES system.
2. Process Optimization
o Analyse manufacturing workflows to identify opportunities for MES enhancements.
o Implement changes in the MES to improve production efficiency and data accuracy.
o Develop and document best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for system use.
3. Training and Support
o Train production and operational staff on the effective use of the MES.
o Provide ongoing technical support to resolve system-related issues.
o Act as the primary point of contact for MES troubleshooting and enhancements.
4. Compliance and Standards
o Ensure MES configurations align with industry regulations such as ISO standards.
o Participate in audits and ensure system compliance with internal and external requirements.
o Maintain detailed records of system changes and updates for audit purposes.
5. Continuous Improvement
o Stay updated on advancements in MES technologies and methodologies.
o Recommend and implement new features or modules to enhance system capabilities.
o Collaborate with vendors to ensure the system remains up-to-date and functional.
o Take the lead role in architecting and deploying a replacement or upgrade MES for the current system.
Qualifications
Education
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience
* Extensive experience of configuring and managing Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) such as Promis, Ops Center or Camstar.
* Knowledge and experience of other MES systems is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and workflows.
* Experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage.
* Familiarity with systems integration, including ERP and PLC systems.
