Job Title: Water Reporting Analyst
Location: Falmer (hybrid working)
Salary : up to £32,000 depending on experience
Overview
Provision of analytical support into new reporting function for Water ASP, including Supply Demand Balance Index (SDBI) and the Water Balance calculation. Assessment and provision of key data and insight required for the production of critical, regulatory metrics for the water business, especially related to our leakage and water resource position. Support in the production of a programme of reporting improvement initiatives, including clear articulation of benefits to support the business to enable initiatives to be prioritised for delivery.
You may be asked to take responsibility for specific elements of these calculations such as Distribution Input or site Deployable Output. Production of data to an auditable quality through the annual return process, or ad-hoc regulatory or internal reviews, produced in accordance with approved methodologies. Your outputs will be critical for the Water ASP input into Annual Return and Price Review Data Table Submissions. Responsible for the generation and articulation of actionable insight for the business to improve asset performance and reported leakage performance.
Strong engagement with Strategy and Planning functions when building strategic programmes of work and asset strategies to maximise the benefits from these programmes on our available water and to support the achievement of ever more stretching regulatory performance targets.

1. Identifying data sources, extracting data and processing large, complex datasets- able to identify and articulate sensitivity to missing/inaccurate data
2. Support business case for investment decisions including initiatives to enhance accuracy of reporting and across the Asset Lifecycle Process
3. Provision of robust, auditable datasets and able to demonstrate these have been generated following approved methodologies

5. Responsible for accuracy of datasets in own remit – including into SDBI and Water Balance reporting
Skills & Competencies
6. Solid experience of data analytics and reporting with specifically demonstrated experience in data extraction, processing and presentation
7. Highly competent user of data manipulation packages such as Excel, Power BI, Python and R
8. Demonstrated ability to assess multiple sources of information, recognise uncertainty and identify preferred courses of action.
9. Demonstrate a high level of initiative and self-motivation.
10. High level of numeracy and literacy with attention to detail, with presentation and effective communication of findings and actionable insight proposals.
11. Demonstrate experience of collaboration across functions and departments to achieve outcomes.
12. Proven ability to meet timescales and ensure quality of output through effective organisation and prioritisation of tasks.

This role will be full time Monday to Friday 37 hours a week.
