As part of Delta Education Trust, The Harbour School’s vision is “Learning together in pursuit of happiness”. We care whether pupils love or hate their learning, working hard to create a space where they learn together to become knowledgeable, self-aware, independent, and happy individuals who make a positive difference. Are you an enthusiastic individual who can bring this vision to life and make a real difference to children’s lives?
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant / Pupil Support Worker to make a difference to children with social, emotional, and mental health needs.
You will be part of an inclusive and collaborative team, ready to face challenges head-on, committed to ensuring pupils progress towards a happy life.
The Harbour School is a special school for learners with Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health (SEMH) Needs and/or Medical Needs.
You will have the opportunity to develop your career within the Delta Education Trust, a small but growing Trust. Our ethos is encompassed in our vision “Learning together in pursuit of happiness”. We practice this by ensuring:
* All decisions are made in the best interests of staff, students, and families.
* High support, high challenge, and evidence-informed practices in everything we do.
* Collaboration and team decision-making.
* Acknowledgment of mistakes to learn and improve.
* Openness to learning and seeking new ideas.
Visits to the school are welcomed; please contact Bonny Keogh (PA to the Headteacher) at bonny.keogh@thsportsmouth.org to arrange an appointment.
The Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. This role involves significant contact with children, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Please ensure a full work history is completed in your application form, including any gaps in employment. Applicants will be required to complete a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check prior to commencement. The Trust is an equal opportunities employer.
If successfully shortlisted, the HR Department will conduct an individual online search, including social media platforms, of your ‘name, education, and employment’, to demonstrate due diligence following ‘Keeping Children Safe in Education' guidance. The search will not form part of the actual shortlisting process, and any concerns arising will be discussed directly with you.
