Role Description The purpose of this role is to develop, plan and implement a profitable and legally compliant adjacency and direct inspection portfolio through effective management, in line with the Inspection growth business plans and effectively deliver high-level profitable growth for the inspection account. The Special Services Manager contributes to the strategic direction of the Inspection business, bringing market knowledge, experience, perspective and challenge to the key decisions made. About You • Supports the whole of the Allianz (AEIS) brand with bespoke solutions and services beyond the core contract. • Contributes to the strategy, direction, goals of the overall Inspection business to deliver legally compliant, safe, and quality services, alongside growth targets. • Bringing knowledge and understanding, but also considerable experience within this market and business to lead to best outcomes for the business. • Member of the AEIS SLT delivering reports to the Board and other governance and oversight committees as required, and responsible for the strategy and direction of the engineering accounts influencing both Core Inspection and Special Services accounts. • Sets direction, goals and strategy for all non-core traded business areas and delivers the profit and loss account for these areas. Achievement of budgetary, expense and cash flow targets. • Leads and directs a special services contracting function, delivering excellent customer service, bespoke solutions, market leading margin and growth. • Supports the Engineering Technical Services function and Chief Engineer with Specialist Engineers and strategy/experience in those fields. Experience • Considerable experience of engineering inspection industry and compliance marketplace. • Proven track record of managing an operational team both directly and remotely deployed, either through other managers/leaders or directly. • Financial awareness and knowledge to negotiate price and manage both the income requirements and budgetary control of a profit and loss account. • Knowledge of contract law and control of contractors not directly employed by Allianz. Technical Experience • Understanding of the customer and broker propositions offered by Allianz as a whole. • Knowledge of the UK inspection market and wider economic environment. • Understanding of contract law and VAT responsibility. • Knowledge of regulatory requirements within the Inspection business. • Sales and negotiation skills such as excellence in sales. • Understanding of the key requirements of a ISO/IEC 17020 ‘Type A’ UKAS accredited Inspection Body. Qualifications • Chartered Engineer status is preferred. • Incorporated Engineer or similar appropriate professional qualification is a minimum requirement. • Financial Awareness to Level 2 is a minimum. • Recognised engineering qualification equivalent to a minimum BTEC, HNC.
