To provide safeguarding leadership, management, & expertise to staff within Buckinghamshire Health Care Trust which is an integrated Trust providing care to adults & children in acute & community settings. The role will take overall leadership of the integrated corporate safeguarding team. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner who is able to ensure that BHT meets its statutory responsibilities to safeguard. This involves leadership education research and clinical care using safeguarding expertise.
Monitor & report on safeguarding performance indicators. Prepare reports for the safeguarding committee and Quality committee.
The post-holder will utilise their advanced level knowledge and skills to:
Provide highly specialist advice to clinical staff, at all levels.
To coordinate the integrated safeguarding services on a day-to-day basis both managerially and operationally.
Maintain and continue to develop clinical practice skills and safeguarding expertise.
To chair and participate in core safeguarding meetings as required.
Attend and contribute to serious case review meetings SARs and other relevant case review processes.
To provide specialist advice, support and supervision in relation to safeguarding associated issues (including all aspects of the Safeguarding Agenda including domestic violence and self-neglect). To ensure integrated safeguarding services are accessible to all staff from across BHT.
Represent the Trust at multiagency regional or national forums as required.
To promote and support the development of integrated safeguarding services.
To promote a ‘think family’ culture within the Trust.
Critically analyse, interpret, and compare a wide range of highly complex research and other evidence in order to contribute to the preparation of Trust Policies and Guidelines.
Be able to assess emergency situations and be able to offer advice and appropriate interventions accurately and promptly.
Collate information gained from investigations following critical incidents in order to produce action plans to prevent future incidents and safeguard staff and patient safety.
