Job Description Job Title: Salaried General Practitioner Sessions: 4-6 sessions Start Date: 10th February 2025 but can be flexible for the right candidate Job Summary An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our friendly, expanding practice team in university practice. There is a strong learning ethos within our supportive and friendly team to ensure that every working day is rewarding. Once you are established in the practice, we may be able to offer some additional support where required. In addition, there are lots of opportunities to develop areas of special interest and to get involved in new service development. Our practice team consists of 4 GPs working with an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 prescribing clinical pharmacists, a management Team, Receptionists, and Administrators. In addition, Brunel Medical Centre has a team of additional pharmacists, Social Prescribing Links Worker, Mental Health Practitioners, and Pharmacy Technicians deployed by PCN via the ARR scheme. We have a growing list size of just above 12,000 patients with the EMIS Web clinical system and Docman users. Furthermore, we are proud to be one of the highest users of online consultation and C the Sign locally. The practice patient population comprises mainly 18-30-year-old university students ensuring a very low visiting rate. Our recent CQC ratings was overall rated as Good with no improvements required. Job Responsibilities As a member of the clinical team, you will be dealing with a wide range of patients with differing and complex health needs within a primary care setting. You will be expected to undertake consultations in all clinical settings as directed during your clinical sessions. These consultations will cover the breath of General Medical Services and Enhanced Service obligations. You will be expected to support the partners in providing such services as outlined in the GMS Contract and any other National, Directed or Local Enhanced Service agreed between the practice and other stakeholders. In addition, contribution to the success of the practice achieving maximum QOF points and other practice objectives will form part of this role. Clinical responsibilities in accordance with the sessions mutually agreed, conducting consultations with a blend of online consultations, telephone and face to face consultations. You will be expected to make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems. In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working in Primary Care with all other clinical administrative tasks which are but not limited to; checking and taking appropriate actions on triaged tasks received, tasks and any other means receivable by the practice, checking and completing investigation results, referral letters, on call duty sessions working in partnership with the clinical team. Subject to the working pattern, attending weekly clinical meetings and participating with multidisciplinary teams, attendance at whole staff practice meeting once a month. You will be expected to maintain and keep good standards of clinical records at all times and to work within the practice standards of practicing ethos. Contribution to the implementation of services Post-holder will be expected to apply practice policies, standards and guidelines. Participate in an audit where possible. Personal Professional Development This post includes paid continuous Professional Development time in accordance with the BMA Salaried GP Contract. You will be expected to attend educational and training activities provided by the Practice and other organisations as part of your CPD commitment. Quality The post-holder is expected to strive to maintain quality within the practice and proactively will alert other team members of issues associated with quality and risk. The post-holder will assess their own performance and take accountability for their own actions, either directly or under supervision; contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on their own and team activities and make suggestions to improve and enhance the teams performance. In addition, to work effectively with other agencies to meet patient needs and effectively manage workload and resources. Communication High standards of communication between the team and with patients or their carers is expected. Leave entitlement Annual leave, study leave entitlement together with CPD time will be based on the standards outlined in the recommended BMA contract for salaried GPs and applied pro rota. Any attended protected learning time session on day off will be allocated back to the post-holder. Registration At all times of employment, the post-holder must be a fully registered GP with the GMC and be part of the Performers List. Salary Depending on experience. Outside activities and private practice The post-holder can undertake private practice or other work, provided that it does not conflict with the agreed job plan at Brunel Medical Centre. Private work will not be permitted on the premises, unless with discussed and agreed in writing with partners. At no time will a private patient service appear to, or be represented as, a service provided by the Practice. Post-holder will indemnify the practice against all claims, complaints or other representation in this respect.
