Wholesale Category Controller – 12 month FTC / Secondment
£49,000 - £56,000 plus benefits including private healthcare (Work Level 5)
Manchester or Scunthorpe, in this role you’ll work in a hybrid way splitting your time between our offices and suppliers regularly (find out more about our hybrid working policy at here).
We’re looking for Wholesale Category Controllers to join our Commercial team, where you’ll play a critical role in shaping our proposition across our Wholesale Partners. We’ll look to you to make sure the right product proposition, ranges, and promotions are offered to our Wholesale Partners and are completed successfully to help drive profitable growth.
You’ll contribute towards our future growth strategy which sees us targeting new markets by delivering a competitive value proposition to customers, in a segmented way that balances price and promotional levers. You’ll develop engaging and differentiated promotional packages for Co-op Wholesale that deliver our commercial and customer goals. This role provides you with an exciting opportunity to develop your skills and gain great exposure across our Co-op and Wholesale businesses.
What you’ll do
* Support the overall delivery of the annual category sales and profit targets for Wholesale
* Manage and agree a promotional package for Wholesale and ensure end-to-end planning is complete across relevant functions
* Work closely with suppliers on promotional plans, negotiating activation funding and media packages
* Select a targeted wholesale range and suggest any additional wholesale-specific requirements
* Working collaboratively with the Buyers, you’ll be responsible for the strategic needs of wholesale in all range reviews and category planning
* Drive strategic and tactical loyalty building initiatives, further enhancing the USP within our Co-op Brand range of goods
This role would suit people who have
* Experience of working in a retail buying environment, wholesale organization, or within the FMCG supply base
* Strong commercial acumen with a customer-focused mindset
* A proven track record of delivering results and achieving financial targets
* Strong analytical skills and an ability to think strategically
* Good attention to detail with the ability to interpret data in a meaningful way
* Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to influence and negotiate successfully with internal and external stakeholders
* Great organization skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment
