The Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Site Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of our solar and battery energy storage facilities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of solar and battery systems, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship. This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficient integration of new sites into the existing operational team and the ongoing reliable operation of our renewable energy assets.
Responsibilities
1. Overall management of Electrical installation for electrical and network compliance.
2. Management of works schedule to meet asset uptime requirements.
3. Managing teams of on-site personnel (works scheduling, team rostering, KPIs, safety & development).
4. Performance of the asset to maximise generation (Availability, Production, Energy targets).
5. Negotiation and management of 3rd party contract works on site.
6. Forecast and project budget management - reporting and integration with Finance team.
7. Enforce RWE safety and electrical policies for the safety and wellbeing of staff.
8. Perform Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits.
9. Understanding of Contractual requirements - Direct and manage variations, estimate and approvals.
10. Actively engage in electrical and mechanical activities.
11. Represent RWE in the local community - interaction with land owners and local stakeholders.
12. Communicate effectively with Business Executives, Project Managers and Main contractors.
13. Ability to operate effectively within a team environment.
14. A team-based approach to achieving objectives is needed to reflect and enhance the emerging culture and climate of RWE Renewables.
Occupational Health Environment & Quality (HSEQ)
1. Ensure that you understand and carry out activities in accordance with RWE Renewables Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
2. Conduct risk assessments in area of responsibility with assistance from RWE Renewables HSE subject matter expert (SME).
3. Generate, implement and audit against Safe Systems of Work (SSOW) in consultation with the team.
4. Promote a healthy work environment for all employees by not smoking in any company (or contractor) buildings or vehicles.
Requirements
1. Current Driver's License.
2. Electrical certification / Licence (Preferable).
3. HV Electrical Certification / Experience (Preferable).
4. OHS Certification.
5. Construction Induction Card (Where applicable).
6. Ability to understand / operate and manage technical and business computer software packages.
7. Ability to read and understand Electrical & Mechanical schematics / drawings.
8. Demonstrate an understanding of basic accounting principles and budget management.
9. Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures - LV & HV.
10. Understanding of electrical standards and regulations.
11. Industry & Business experience.
12. Experience in running & managing utility energy assets and/or energy distribution assets.
13. Experience in DNSP/NSP interactions (Preferable).
14. Experience in managing project budgets and aligning with future works.
15. Appropriate level of commercial acumen commensurate with position, some knowledge of commercial contracts.
16. Previous experience in utility solar or storage construction.
People Skills & other
1. Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
2. Experience in running and managing teams of personnel both locally and from a distance.
3. Flexible working - nights, weekends, holidays as required.
4. Medical / Fit for duty assessment required.
