You do not need to have worked in care to apply as we will invest in your qualifications and provide full training through our award-winning learning & development team prior to starting Currently, we are only able to consider applicants who have a driving licence. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile About the Role : Our service in Stranraer is a complex needs service supporting individuals with learning disabilites and autism. Working with people with complex needs can be very challenging, as well as very rewarding at the same time. Some people we support may be non-verbal. Due to their complex needs, people we support can have behaviours of concern which is their form of communication, this can lead to incidents happening. To keep everyone safe, staff are trained in physical intervention techniques which are always a last resort, however everyone's safety has to be safeguarded at all times. People will mostly require 24 hour support which includes a sleepover. Our shifts are 8hrs. Your responsibilities as a Complex Needs Practitioner could include: Social Support - Assisting individuals to engage with their communities by planning and attending outings to various leisure activities such as day centres, cinema, swimming etc. Personal Care - Assisting people to maintain their wellbeing by promoting their personal care which would include assistance with bathing, dressing, arranging visits with the dentist/doctor, incontinence care. Practical Support - Helping people to maintain their tenancy by encouraging daily household tasks such as general housework, laundry, ironing, cooking, shopping.
