We are looking to recruit a new Physiotherapy Assistant to work as part of the Physiotherapy Team on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Wards at The James Cook University Hospital. You will assist the Physiotherapists in providing high quality treatment and rehabilitation to patients within the hospital. We are looking for a friendly, helpful and motivated person, preferably with some experience of working with members of the public. A keen interest in the rehabilitation of patients is essential, and continued professional development will be actively encouraged.
The appointed candidate must successfully undertake a pre-employment medical and have disclosure details available prior to starting work. The candidate may be expected to work flexibly across both hospital sites.
Responsibilities:
1. To support the Physiotherapists in providing an efficient and effective Physiotherapy service within the framework of clinical governance.
2. To undertake specific skilled support work to aid the rehabilitation of patients on the Orthopaedic wards, assisting the Physiotherapy team in their area of work.
3. This will involve treatments of delegated patients, including group work, according to needs of care plan or protocols. There will also be administrative and equipment maintenance duties.
Training:
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff. This training programme has been designed to support our staff in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the following training sessions:
1. Service Improvement for Beginners
After completing these one and a half days of training, you will be able to explore further leadership and improvement training opportunities. We also offer a range of additional in-house courses and bitesize programmes through our Leadership and Improvement Team.
