We are seeking a Senior Care Assistant in our 14 bed general residential unit to join our compassionate team of carers at Rylands Nursing Home. We are a care home who prides ourselves on delivering excellent care to our valued residents.
Commencing on an hourly rate of £12.59 increasing to £12.94 with experience, working 35.25 hours per week.
You will work on a rota basis Monday to Sunday on day shifts and night shifts.
Essential Criteria:
* Previous experience is essential in a caring environment as a care assistant or senior care assistant. Full training will be provided.
Responsibilities:
* Responsible and accountable for medications dispensed and administered.
* You will take responsibility for the smooth running of the care delivered whilst you are on duty and documentation to reflect the care given.
* You will at all times ensure the smooth running of the residential unit and deliver the highest standard in the provision of client care.
* You will respond to emergencies and provide guidance and support to care assistants under the supervision of qualified nursing staff.
* You will also participate in staff induction programmes and at all times, promote safe working practice at the home incorporating all knowledge gained by yourself at mandatory and professional development training.
* You will act as a member of a team, lead by example and support care assistants in their supervision and development.
* Residents will be supported and encouraged to contribute to their own care within their own limits of ability, maximising self-respect and dignity and consistent with their own care plan.
* Promote, monitor and maintain cleanliness in the workplace.
* Transmit, store and retrieve information.
* Support residents in transfer between care environments.
* Develop and promote effective communication and relationships.
* Adhere to Rylands Nursing Home guidelines and protocols.
* Demonstrate responsibility for self-development through a Personal Development plan.
* Complete elearning as part of essential training.
* Attend face to face training sessions.
All actions undertaken will be consistent with the patient’s multi-disciplinary plan of care, including all correct moving and handling procedures.
