SHEQ Coordinator
Our client is an international manufacturing and materials processing organisation, with multiple sites across the UK. This position will focus on their manufacturing facilities in Lincolnshire, Cotswalds, and the South East, where you will be responsible for all Health and Safety requirements across several manufacturing plants.
In this position, you will take responsibility for both the strategic development and pragmatic application of Health and Safety processes and systems, by influencing and engaging with key stakeholders across the business from operations and site leadership teams, down to production operative level.
Reporting to the National Operations Director, the role will focus on the development of the company-wide Health and Safety strategy ensuring legislative requirements are met, while developing H & S culture. You will create and implement policies that are embraced within the organisation through systematic and strategic cultural change, engaging with teams and key stakeholders to collaboratively develop pragmatic Health and Safety solutions, embedding a culture of ownership across the organisation by winning hearts and minds.
Key requirements:
1. Experience of managing and setting Health and Safety strategy within a heavy industrial manufacturing, or engineering environment.
2. The ability to switch between working strategically and tactically, sometimes providing hands-on support in the delivery of all H & S activities, including supporting sites with RAMS and SOPs.
3. Strong H&S knowledge, supported by a Nebosh certificate qualification or above, or equivalent in H & S.
4. Experience of developing, implementing, and continuously improving management systems in line with ISO accreditation requirements - OHSAS 18001.
5. Experience of developing implementation and improvement plans for the full suite of Health and Safety activities.
6. Multi-site experience is desirable in delivering Health and Safety policy and culture, but not essential.
7. Experience of working within an industrial, ideally heavy industry-related environment.
8. Environmental HSE / EHS experience (ISO 14001) would be an advantage, but not essential.
9. Full UK driving license.
