We are currently seeking five highly customer-focused Sessional Registrars to join our dynamic Registration Team. These flexible roles are ideal for individuals who thrive in a people-centered environment and are looking to work weekends and occasional evenings. As a Sessional Registrar, you will play an important role in officiating ceremonies and registering key life events at a range of beautiful and diverse venues across the London Borough of Waltham Forest. You will be based primarily at the Register Office in Walthamstow Library and the Town Hall campus, with duties also taking place at approved venues throughout the borough. This is a casual role where you let us know your availability-be it for half or full days on weekends-and we'll match you to demand accordingly. Our registration services operate Monday to Sunday, 9:00am to 5:00pm, with some evening appointments also available. Flexibility is essential, as is a smart appearance and a calm, friendly demeanor. If you're committed to excellence and looking to make a real difference in your community, we would love to hear from you. >> Click here to download the Role Profile Key Responsibilities: Delivering all elements of birth, death and still birth registrations, Officiate marriage ceremonies, civil partnership ceremonies and British Citizenship ceremonies Conducting non-statutory ceremonies, such as renewal of vows, baby naming and commitment ceremonies. Liaising with customers and colleagues to ensure that ceremonies are delivered to a high standard. Maintaining all audit procedures, which ensure the safekeeping of records, data and secure stock items. Maintaining a working knowledge of the laws relating to registration services, regulations of the General Register Office, Home Office, Registration Handbooks, circulars, processes and council policies. Qualifications and Requirements: English and Maths Qualifications Relevant NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualifications Terms and conditions: Satisfactory employment references and CIFAS identity checks; Satisfactory declaration of interest; Satisfactory DBS check; As a public authority, we must ensure that members of staff in public-facing roles are able to speak fluent English.
