Responsibilities
Seeking a Construction Manager to support electric distribution. The Construction Manager will schedule the work in the most cost and time-efficient manner, ensuring projects are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits, and schedule; and that all retained documents associated with the work are compliant.
Construction Managers will oversee jobs on a weekly basis, tracking costs for the program and managing contractor spend and performance. They will assist with contract negotiations and onboarding of new contractors.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop internal work procedures and initiate process improvements.
2. Work directly with managers, project managers, planners, and other departments to achieve project objectives, and review and retain all documentation for the project to proceed.
3. Review all project documentation to assure quality and that it meets all standards.
4. Review and understand gas and electric construction drawings and As-built documents and ensure this documentation follows requirements and is submitted timely.
5. Manage and report out on hundreds of projects weekly.
6. Oversee a multitude of jobs on a weekly basis, tracking costs for the program and managing contractor spend and performance.
7. Assist with contract negotiations and onboarding of new contractors.
8. Research and data analysis; compile and prepare reports for upper management.
9. Support the organization as a subject matter expert by providing information and direction to resources through various delivery channels.
10. Solve unique and complex problems for the department and/or line of business that have companywide impact and risk, anticipating issues and developing innovative solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
2. 3 years of experience in construction, industrial, or related experience.
3. Experience working with and interpreting construction contracts, plans, and specifications.
4. Experience with MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
1. Experience with SAP.
2. Valid California driver's license.
3. 8 years of working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction.
4. Construction management experience and field leadership and documentation skills.
