Job Description An opportunity has arisen within Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability for a Lead Advocate to join our ASSIST Service on a fixed-term basis until 31 March 2026, based on Scottish Government funding. Position Details Established in 2004, ASSIST (Advocacy Support Safety Information Services Together) is a specialist domestic abuse court advocacy service that supports people whose partner, or ex-partner, has a domestic abuse case going through the criminal court. Whilst part of Glasgow City Council, ASSIST support people in Argyll and Bute, Ayrshire (East, North, and South), Dumfries and Galloway, Glasgow, Dunbartonshire (East and West), Inverclyde, Lanarkshire, and Renfrewshire (including East Renfrewshire). The Lead Advocate will be the first point of contact for Advocacy Workers and Children and Young Persons Advocacy Workers in the provision of a pro-active, short to medium term service (in a multi-agency framework) to victims/survivors of domestic abuse where contact is primarily by telephone; and will undertake an initial review of all ASSIST client intake to identify and focus on those most at risk. A relevant qualification e.g., higher education or equivalent, a professional qualification or a counselling qualification is an essential requirement of this role. Having completed IDAA training is desirable. Contract Details Weekly Hours: 28 Work Pattern: 4 days from Monday - Friday, 9am – 5pm inclusive of a 1-hour unpaid break Annual Salary: £29,190.64 - £35,084.33 on an incremental scale This is a peripatetic role and could be based across any of the locations from which ASSIST deliver a service.
