They are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Food Teacher to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging food and nutrition lessons to students in Key Stages 3 and 4, and potentially Key Stage 5. This role involves developing inspiring lesson plans, assessing student progress, and contributing to the wider school community.
Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging food and nutrition lessons that cater to a diverse range of learning styles and abilities.
* Develop and implement a curriculum that meets the educational standards and requirements of the school and the national curriculum.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support to help students achieve their full potential.
* Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning.
* Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to enhance the learning experience.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
* Ensure the safe and effective use of food technology equipment and materials.
* Promote healthy eating habits and knowledge of food safety among students.
* Participate in departmental meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and initiatives.
* Support extracurricular activities and school events as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
* A bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
* Proven experience teaching food and nutrition at the secondary school level.
* Strong knowledge of the food and nutrition curriculum and assessment frameworks.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to inspire and motivate students.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
