Description | Salary £12 Per hour | Permanent, Part Time, 30 hours per week | St Marys High Leyland | Pay Award Pending International Sponsorship – this role is not open to international sponsorship Lancashire County Council provide catering services to over 500 schools across Lancashire, serving over 60,000 school meals per day and we are looking for committed individuals to join the service. You will work as part of a team within the Leyland area providing high quality, healthy, balanced meals for school children. Working Hours/Days: Monday to Friday 6 hours each day Term time only 30 hours per week, although hours are variable depending upon school meal uptake. Accountabilities/Responsibilities: To prepare, cook and serve food and beverages according to the service specification. To operate catering equipment and machinery as required after appropriate instruction. To undertake clearing and cleaning duties within the kitchen and dining areas as required To assist the Unit Manager in allocating tasks and supervising the kitchen team To deputise for the Unit Manager in their absence To communicate with all customers in a friendly and caring manner To attend meetings and training sessions as required. In addition to the duties outlined above, all employees are required to take care of their own and other people’s health and safety. Employees are to co-operate with LCS by observing the code set out in Section 15 paragraphs 1-10 of the LCCS general statement of safety policy, which is available from head office on request. QUALIFICATONS AND EXERIENCE Appropriate level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills to perform the duties required of the post. Catering experience preferred, but not essential, (City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ equivalent an advantage) The post you are applying for is covered by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013).
