Description The Service & Team: The small and friendly Cognition and Learning Team works with a large number of schools, settings and children and young people (0-25) across the county. We provide a wide range of high quality training which supports learners with SEND as well as working with individuals assessing their needs and providing well-written, accessible reports. We are constantly thinking of new and innovative ways of providing this support We are an integral part of the SEND Support Services and carry out strategic work as part of this broader team delivering training, for example, to new SENCOs and colleagues in social care. We place a high value on our own CPD and partake in opportunities to attend training locally and nationally. The Role: As an advisor in the team you will visit schools and settings mainly in the East of the County. Working with learners with SEND, SENCOs and staff in schools you will be expected to provide advice and training based on individual learner needs which sometimes change at very short notice. You will be involved in the development and delivery of training packages with the wider SEND Support Service. You may be involved in broader strategic work around SEND and will be involved with colleagues from a range of other agencies. This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies. This position will be subject to a enhanced criminal record disclosure check. Working Pattern: This role is 0.3 FTE. Days to be decided on recruitment. What you’ll need to succeed: You will be a qualified and experienced teacher who is passionate about learners with SEND. You will need to be flexible in your approach to working with our schools and learners in the East of the County. You will enjoy the challenge of working independently and managing your own time as well as being part of a small team. You will be comfortable using IT to support your work, recording casenotes and communicating with a wide range of other people.
