This is an exciting opportunity as we are looking for a confident communicator who will be responsible for responding to Personnel, Physical, Cyber and Information security incidents within a given caseload, along with other general duties. You will join a small team of case managers who are responsible for the recording and hands-on management of the response to security incidents, the dissemination of security messaging, and acting as an enquiry point for security advice.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Case management - You will be responsible for triaging incoming security incident reports, making sure that all relevant stake holders are informed, and directing relevant parties to take containment and investigatory actions. You will ensure all policy and legislative requirements are adhered to in relation to the reporting and management of security incidents.
Security products – You will actively manage the recording, hosting and dissemination of Defence and Army security products, drafting products when appropriate, and ensuring distribution lists are kept up to date.
Policy and process - You will need to develop and maintain a working knowledge of Army and Defence security policy to support your roles and responsibilities, including helping to develop and maintain the Army WARP Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Data - You will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of security incident data records, ensuring the data is correctly protected in line with policy and legislative requirements. You will gather and carry out first-line analysis of data to support the production of assurance reports, cultural interventions, and training, education and awareness material. You will need to produce written and verbal stakeholder briefs on specific security incidents.
Meetings and relationships - You will be expected to represent Army WARP at relevant internal and external meetings and in support, or in lieu, of the Army WARP Lead or Senior Case Manager, as required, including presenting educational material in relation to the work of Army WARP. You will also be responsible for building and maintaining mutually beneficial relationships with other parts of the Army and the MOD.
Other – You will take responsibility for managing the Army WARP group mailbox, answering or referring enquiries as appropriate. After a suitable period in post, you will be required to join a rota of staff providing out of hour cover, which attracts an allowance. Occasional, pre-planned travel is required, for which a full driving licence is desirable. Travel is by MOD vehicles or public transport; there is no requirement to own or have access to a car. The branch is reviewing and overhauling its information management practises and ways of working; you will be expected to engage with these efforts, fully adopting changes and making suggestions for further improvement.
The role involves working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling a variety of multi-faceted tasks and dealing with conflicting priorities.
