Job Details The Glenrothes Community Learning and Development Team are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated Adult Learning Tutor(s) who can develop, deliver and evaluate various informal learning opportunities across the area. You will be required to support and deliver programmes covering subject areas which may include creative and practical elements such as introductory arts and crafts, cooking & baking, well-being & outdoor learning. You will be asked to use you own initiative and skill set to promote and improve personal development and increase confidence and aspiration for Community Based Learners. You will contribute to the wider aim of increasing the participation of adults and families in local communities, encouraging personal growth and building positive, meaningful relationships. Delivery will predominately be in various community facilities in Glenrothes and the surrounding areas. Main duties include: Developing learning programmes which suits the needs of students in conjunction with community education workers and the wider Community Learning and Development team. Planning, monitoring, evaluating and adapting lessons/programmes as appropriate in response to individual/group needs. Promoting learning opportunities at various community events and contacting potential learners regarding planned learning opportunities. Maintaining the necessary recording of learning and student progress via agreed systems, Cognisoft is the current software (training will be given). Undertaking relevant training as required to ensure a safe and up-to-date learning experience is offered – eLearning or face-to-face. The Person Educated to SCQF level 6, which includes Highers or SVQ level 3 or equivalent The ability to develop and deliver a programme of learning including all aspects of planning, monitoring and evaluation in response to local need. Effective communication skills and approaches which are consistent with the ethos and value of lifelong learning. Organisational skills: ability to work in a planned way, able to manage competing demands and facilitate agreed outcomes. Awareness of inclusion and equality to ensure venues are accessible and conducive to the learning experience. Experience of working in a community setting/environment and with all ages including volunteers preferred but not essential.
