Axcis Education have an exciting new opportunity in the Tiverton area working with Secondary aged children in a mainstream school. The school is looking for a full time SEMH specialist to work in the SEND department working with both small groups and 1:1 support specifically with the school's SEMH pupils. The role is a full time post working 5 days a week during the weekdays from 8:30 - 4:00 paying £85 - £90 per day. This role starts in April 2025 with the opportunity of leading to a permanent contract.
The role is working in a SEND department within the mainstream Secondary School that supports pupils with EHCP’s with SEMH. You will be working with small groups up to 4 pupils as well as 1:1 support. All pupils are readily able to access mainstream education but due to a variety of reasons there will be gaps in their education.
The ideal candidate must have experience working with children or young people with social, emotional and mental health needs and be comfortable taking on a role to assist positive behaviour and behaviour management. You must be a nurturing person with the ability to form good relationships with children and respect each individual on a case by case basis.
