The Role
The Security Operations team is responsible for monitoring, protecting, enhancing, and responding to risks and threats that threaten M&G's networks. Each individual team works hard to ensure M&G's environment is secure by working with Third Parties, conducting training, and exercising to ensure stakeholders understand Security risks and know how to adequately respond to potential security incidents, attacks, intrusions, data breaches, and policy violations within M&G and its associated businesses.
What will you be doing?
As a Technology Cyber Security Apprentice, your daily duties will include:
1. Supporting the Team in delivery of an excellent security service to internal customers and third-party suppliers, driving efficiencies and improvements for the business.
2. Supporting delivery of business and security strategy.
3. Educating colleagues on the importance of security behaviours.
4. Attending meetings and supporting implementation of projects.
5. Developing knowledge of the cyber security landscape.
6. Supporting Incidents and Post Incident Reviews.
What will I need to be successful in this role?
1. Confident communication skills, both written and verbal.
2. Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders with ease.
3. Ability to manage processes and coordinate with different people.
4. Empathy and good listening skills.
5. Efficient, proactive, structured approach to work and very well organized.
6. High level of accuracy and good attention to detail.
7. Can effectively manage day-to-day work alongside apprenticeship qualification.
8. Moderate understanding of the MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
9. A proactive team player who is confident about working with others but also independently and can promptly escalate any issue and work remotely where required.
10. Logical and analytical approach coupled with intelligence, passion, and a drive to learn.

4. Attend one of our Assessment Centres.

Training Provided
As a Cyber Security Apprentice with M&G, you will undertake the SCQF Level 8 Cyber Security Technical Apprenticeship, delivered through a blend of live online learning, pre-recorded lectures, and face-to-face inductions and masterclasses.
Future Prospects
This is a fixed-term contract for 18 - 23 months upon which the business may decide to retain, subject to the Apprentice's performance, headcount, and available funding. If recruited into a permanent role, the individual will follow the career progression applicable to the specific role/department.
