Position: Financial Analyst
Employment Type: 12 month, fixed term contract (From prospective candidates start date)
Location: Liverpool city centre - Hybrid working
Salary: £43,575-£48,438 per annum
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00pm
Company Overview: Join our well-known public sector client's commercial finance team at one of their largest offices across the UK in the Liverpool city centre.
Join Their Team: This position is requiring an experienced Financial Analyst that enjoys analytical decision making and managing stakeholders. You'll be expected to provide high quality supplier financial risk analysis and make recommendations as part of supplier selection and ongoing commercial agreements. This role will feature you focusing on the support to commercial colleagues in the post-award assurance delivery whilst also working with a third party to deliver financial assessments during live procurements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Liaising with external suppliers and colleagues to process financial risk.
* Creating risk evaluation reports by reviewing financial information, applying financial ratios and providing concise conclusions.
* Coordinate activity with Procurement Operations to ensure timely processing of bidder financial data.
* Monitor third party performance and delivery of assessments.
* Identify and lead on initiatives to develop the commercial Finance service offering.
* Engage with Cabinet Office and other departments to share best practices and contribute to cross government risk management.
* Communicate finance reports, processes and financial risk guidance in an easy-to-understand manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Ideally worked within a previous, similar public sector financial role.
* Professional accounting/financial qualification.
* Ability to deliver to strict deadlines and work under pressure.
* Experienced in interpreting financial information to identify financial risk.
* Experienced in working with multiple stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge.
* It would also be desirable (but not essential) to have experience within any of the following: investment appraisal, credit control, risk management, or auditing.
