Salary: £58,131 to £61,445 per annum.
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week. With flexible working options available.
Contract: Permanent.
Location: Your base will be County Hall, Chichester however, you will be required to work around the County. There will be hybrid working options available.
As the Commercial and Fleet Logistics Manager, you will oversee West Sussex County Council's vehicle fleet and maintenance contracts, ensuring efficient operation and utilisation across multiple service areas.
To deliver vehicle and equipment management and maintenance services that support community strategies in West Sussex, you will strategically lead the:
* Maintenance team,
* Fleet Contracts and Procurement team,
* Fleet Support and Resource Team.
You will also engage with WSCC procurement and other stakeholders to maximise commercial opportunities for fleet services across the County Council.
What we need from you:
* Ability to lead strategically, establish clear service area plans, provide expert technical and management advice, and exercise sound judgment to define, resolve problems, and identify solutions independently, impacting broader services.
* Research and planning abilities to create innovative service solutions, paired with entrepreneurial skills to develop long-term income generation strategies.
* Communication skills to persuade, negotiate or influence within or outside the organisations to achieve challenging/sensitive objectives and ensure implementation of solutions.
* Sound partnership working skills.
* Effective people management and performance management skills with the ability to lead and inspire, providing direction and support to individuals and teams.
* Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing successful strategies for the generation of savings/income from partnerships across local government or commercial organisations.
* Experience of managing a budget and contributing to financially related decisions on high level spending.
* Experience working in a multi-agency partnership environment.
* Experience of supporting initiatives in a political environment.
